About Us

Hello! Welcome to Lucky Lu Designs. My name is Melissa Earney - wife and dog mom to two sweet and loving dogs, Koda (chocolate lab) and Miles (morkie).

The name Lucky Lu comes from a few different things. I go by "Liss" by the majority of my friends and family, but when I was younger I was called "LuLu". From there a family friend started calling me Lucky Liss after I would catch multiple fish on a summer cabin trip while others did not. Which is why I felt LuckyLu Designs was the perfect fit. 

Though, I feel pretty lucky for all this life has given me, I have also gone through my fair share of hardships. You'll notice that 10% of your sales go directly to Suicide Prevention. I have loved apparel since working in retail in college and have enjoyed it even more by creating custom designs since gaining my UX/UI Design certification. But I wanted to do something that makes a difference. My goal is to provide meaningful apparel that stands for a thought, feeling, emotion or place in your life while raising awareness and donating money to suicide prevention.

In high school, I lost two very good friends to suicide and my life was forever changed by it. There were days where I couldn't get out of bed, or the tears wouldn't end. Depression, anxiety, and mental health are important things to normalize, so that together we can help each other feel like we are not alone. 

So help me make a difference. Raising awareness for suicide prevention, and donating money to help others get the resources they need.
